ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE, COMPUTER INFORMATION AND OFFICE SYSTEMS

This Associate of Applied Science Degree program prepares students for career entry or career advancement and also offers skills preparation for personal use. It provides students with the technical, administrative, and human relations skills required of office professionals.

OUTCOMES: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to demonstrate the following:

  1. 1. Keyboarding skills of 40 wpm.
  2. 2. Intermediate skills that utilize advanced features of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  3. 3. Oral and written communications skills that meet business standards.
  4. 4. Application of critical thinking skills to make effective decisions and solve problems.
  5. 5. Professional behavior and interpersonal skills.
CREDITS GENERAL UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS
15   1. Complete the General University Requirements for Associate Degree
. 3 ENGL 111 Methods of Written Communication
. 3 CIOS 260A Business Communications (recommended)
Or
ENGL 212 Technical Writing
. 6 COMM 111 Fundamentals of Oral Communications
. Credits from Humanities, Math, Natural Sciences, or Social Studies 6 Any English course with a course number higher than ENGL 111.
